Free Pentecostal Churches in Tanzania (FPCT), main office in Dar Es Salaam, former PCAT, collaboration partner of many years.

The project comprise the restructuration of an old orphanage that is indended mainly for motherless children in an area with high death rate due to AIDS.  The project aims at reducing the operation costs and the dependence on help from the outside through the decontamination and re-building of buildnings, furhter education for personell and the introduction of new activity principles in combination with new branches of support.

The childrens village aims at a model where a relative follows the child during the time period of 2-3 years he or she is in the village. The activity is focused on newly born children that cannot be cared for at home, usually because the mother has died during the delivery.

The project helps children from poor families to survive, gives their relatives a greater knowledge about child care and hygiene.

GOAL: to develope the work with motherless childern, continue to educate local personell,  increase the awareness about hygiene principles.

MEASURES: the local personell will be educated for a higher formal competence by the financing of their education. The buildings will be renovated to meet the demands of the "childrens village" principle. Finnish presonell will be involved in compleating the project.

RESULTS: 

- the personell in charge will reach full competence that meet the demands from the state.

- the buildings will be rebuilt to meet the demands from the activities

- the relatives that accompany the children will receive education and the community will develope a conciousness about hygiene and child care.
